What’s to be done after the end of history? In an attempt to answer this question, director and performer Nicola Nord talked with former and future communists about what remains when you loose a utopia. .
In little red (play): herstory will be told. In this theatre-production Nicola Nord&Co. will look from the interstellar perspective of the third millennium at the great political utopias and the ideologies of their enemies. Together with her collective andcompany&Co, she constructs a docu-tale of a past which could have been our future. The multi-material stage-animation of Flashkes and Noah Fischer creates a space in the here that gives voice to the experience which follows the silence after the failure of social alternatives. Perhaps this is the moment to imagine and tell new stories…

In 2008 andcompany went to St. Petersburg to do research for their communism trilogy. On the occasion of the centenary  of the October Revolution, they return to their obsessions. In their lecture-concert they tell an alternative (hi)story from that ‘short 20th century’, which started with the October Revolution and ended with the Cold War. But what, if…. this century was not over?

Can ants save the world? The latest research proves it:What’s new? Everyone is confused, hyperactive, burnt out and constantly agitated at the same time. And so are we. But does this general state of affairs lead to mutual understanding? En contraire… Is “confusionism” the greatest mass disenfranchisement of all time? Is it the calculated work of right-wing and/or super-rich villains or the sabre-rattling of the zeitgeist? Are there still people behind it or machines that have taken on a life of their own? When did this “hyperpolitics” begin? What happened that suddenly not only the personal is supposed to be political, but also the political personal? Is that what has ruined us? And above all: how on earth can we work, think and breathe in such a time without contributing to the general confusion?

Land aller Kinder

שנה: 2024

עיצוב חלל, מסכות וגרפיקה

The Berlin theater group andcompany&Co. is staging a “children’s play for adults” that appeals equally to adults and children – inspired by the novel “Kind aller Länder” (1938) by the German author Irmgard Keun, who had to flee from the Nazis and tells her escape from the child’s perspective of the 10-year-old novel character Kully. Kully’s stories are interwoven with current tales about experiences of flight, and from personal and temporal perspectives an immediate, humorous and above all timeless description of German exile is created, in which urgent questions about flight, emigration and the problem of human rights are dealt with in a child-friendly way: Who vouches for those for whom no one can vouch? What does it mean to be a child of all countries and therefore of no country? On stage, the youngest performers Rokia and Zümra expose concepts such as borders, turn them upside down and renegotiate them until the adults run out of breath, er, words – while the visa that is supposed to take everyone to a new country continues to expire until it is finally no longer valid. Is this already the “land of all children” or just a stopover?

Frenemies for ever

שנה: 2020

עיצוב אובייקטים, צילום ועריכה

How do friendships function “in dark times” (Hannah Arendt)? Do they deform in the stress test of exception rules and contact restrictions? How sustainable are they on the platforms of digital tech giants, where friends and followers teem, while the unfriend click is always just a finger’s length away? Is it possible to poke through one’s own filter bubble despite and with YouTube? Inspired by the political concept of friendship by the Jewish German-American theorist and famous friend Hannah Arendt, the performance group andcompany&Co. is founding a “theatre of virtual friendship” with a control centre in Berlin: together with young vloggers and influencers from Germany, Israel and the USA, they meet in digital rehearsal rooms, philosophise, discuss and dare utopian views of this very special relationship in viral challenges. In the process, they infiltrate YouTube through a literal tunnel system whose various paths lead to a joint online performance: as a conversation and activity of many with many..

WARPOP MIXTAKE FAKEBOOK VOLXFUCK PEACE OFF! 'Schland of Confusion

שנה: 2015

עיצוב חלל, מסכות וגרפיקה

The people on the street proclaim “WE”. But the question is who is “we”? The citizens, the natives or just all of “us”. Everyone is afraid of something – of terrorism, World War III, the nuclear apocalypse. Or of vapour trails in the sky.  andcompany&Co. travel from a winter of peace and PEGIDA back to the Eighties when the peace movement was still politically left and pop was protest. ‘Schland of Confusion sings farewell to social movements. But the party is not over! Let’s shred our tapes, delete our profiles and like the bomb: Back to ‘No Future!’ war is pop, freedom self-exploitation, ignorance identity. Angst is your enemy. ANGER IS AN ENERGY!
